As a "young whipper snapper," seeing the perceived freedom of a group of surfers flying through the air to a dreamy soundtrack really hit a chord, and somehow made me think that those types of experiences are what makes life great and since then, freefalling videos have held a special place in my heart, especially when done well. 

Experience Zero Gravity is a video by Betty Wants In for InfinityList.com, a central platform for the best cinematic sports videos, about a group of base jumpers hurling themselves off of the most beautiful peaks in Norway, Switzerland and France.

No more to say other than lose yourself in a well made 2 minutes 54 seconds of a dreamy adrenaline fuelled extreme sports video.

Little hand says it's time to rock and roll.

His video TOKYO SLO-MODE is a great film that combine jump cuts with slow motion footage, HDR styling and a killer track by Thom Yorke and Flying Lotus.

Well worth checking out and I look forward to seeing more from Lee in the future.

To accompany the release of the film, Sir Paul Smith has designed a series of posters that will be signed and available in limited runs for around £100 with all profits going to Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

I've always been a fan of minimilist style movies posters that focus on concept rather that the stars and I think these work well.

Tinker Taylor Solder Spy is set to be released on September 16th in the UK and Ireland.

This piece documents the extreme pairing of fully suited astronauts taking their life in a number of different ways including jumping from a bridge, dropping a toaster into a bath of water and filling a car with exhaust fumes.

I find this project really interesting and I think it works on many levels. Not only are the shots themselves extremely well executed with composition and colour really hitting the mark but also the sombre tones are surprisingly successful in their delivery.

There is something romantically eerie about a fully suited astronaut attempting to take his or her life in an empty space, and this is where it gets interesting for me. I think there are many parallels that can be found between the role of an astronaut and the process of taking one's life. The links between the bleakness and loneliness of outer space are felt here in the anonymous emptiness of the suited space traveller as they prepare to end their life.

I think this project is a triumph in more ways than one, and more comparisons can be drawn with every look. To see the project in its entirety visit Astronaut Suicides.

What I like about DeLorenzo's illustrative style is that it changes from piece to piece, and sometimes that can be difficult for someone who's taken years to establish their own technique.

They are based in Prague and was founded by Jan Vranovsky and Dan Friedlaender.

Drawing inspiration from classic 70s designers such as Saul Bass and Lance Wyman, they strive for strong visuals and focussed solutions.

A recent project of theirs is an in-house brief for a set of characters based on their own logo which will eventually produced as stickers, posters and buttons.

Now the background is out of the way, you've got to take a look at some examples below, I think they're great! There are some classic characters in there from Kermit the Frog to Daft Punk. I think the execution of this relatively simple idea is spot on and i'd love to have a little Rage Guy character that I could guerilla stick all over the place.

Although they do create some nice type, favourites being Berfa and Horseface, this post focusses on their branding.

As you would expect for a foundry, they have created their own custom font for the logo, make good use of space around the identity and as part of a feature on their site, the background changes colour when each new type example shown. On a simply laid out site, this small touch adds a lot...although it sounds like it was a little tricky to implement initially.

Anyway, great work...and make sure you follow them on Twitter so you don't miss out on future updates.

Oh and as a small aside, you can't beat a good colour profile chart or putting a nice logotype over a monotone image!
